Its Good to Book Talk!
Was it February 2016 when I did my first book talk? Indeed it was, and it was at the Castle Keep, where I spoke about Bela Lugosi prior to the screening of his classic chiller White Zombie (1932). Even his ghost paid us a visit!
I was never so cold in all my life. Don't let the photo below mislead you. I may have looked all happy and smiley, but I was shivering. Great memories!!!
My first talk of the year as at St Helen's Church Community Centre for a ladies group. It was nice to get back into the swing of it again and it give me a chance to practise for my biggie at the Darlington Film Club next month. My next scheduled talk will be on 6 March at Deckham Community Centre.
I will also be returning to the Swanwick Writers' Retreat in August. I'm all booked up and ready to go. I'll be running the buskers night once more and hope to get new songs for the band finale. Best get rehearsing! Nice to appear in the advertisement for Swanwick in February's Writing Magazine.
To round off this brief blog, I have been pencilled in as a guest at the 2019 Whitley Bay Film Festival. Co-organiser & friend Chris Phipps is sorting something out, and this will included a special screening of the Vincent Price chiller The Oblong Box (1969).
Watch this space folks!
